INTERFAX - China will not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan, Chinese Ambassador to Kabul Wang Yu said after his meeting with the acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) Sirajuddin Haqqani.
"China will not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan, it will respect Afghanistan, which adheres to its own system based on national conditions, culture, religion and traditions," the ambassador tweeted on Sunday evening.
According to him, "emphasized humanity, democracy and rights should not be politicized and used as tools to exert pressure on others."
"It is confirmed that China continues to provide assistance to (Afghanistan), deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, mining, energy, transport and livelihood. Peace and stability benefit the region and the world," the Chinese diplomat said.
Wang Yu also said that China, in cooperation with the Department of Refugee Affairs of the eastern province of Nangarhar, provided assistance to 350 needy Afghan families.
Meanwhile, the press center of the Taliban Interior Ministry said that the meeting of the acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the movement Sirajuddin Haqqani and the Chinese Ambassador in Kabul Wang Yu took place the day before.
According to the report, the Chinese ambassador at the meeting urged the Taliban not to allow terrorists to threaten other countries from the territory of Afghanistan.
"Stressing the need to maintain friendly relations with Afghanistan, Mr. Wang Yu called on the Islamic Emirate (as the Taliban call their government - IF) to ensure that Afghan land is not used against anyone," the press center of the Taliban Interior Ministry reports.
"Ambassador Wang Yu criticized the United States for seeking revenge on the Afghans with economic sanctions for their defeat and said that the United States uses the themes of "inclusive government, human rights, women's rights and freedom of expression as pretexts against Afghanistan."
