About 40 thousand people will take part in them
Moscow. January 13. INTERFAX - Norway has notified Russia about large-scale NATO military exercises in the Norwegian Sea and on the territory of Norway, the press service of the Northern Fleet reported.
"According to the Norwegian side, the multinational exercise Cold Risks-2022 will be held in March-April this year. It will take place in several stages, some of which will be played in the Norwegian Sea, as well as in the northern and central parts of Norway," the press service reported.

The plans of the exercises became the subject of a conversation between Commander of the Northern Fleet Alexander Moiseev and Commander of the Operational Command of the Norwegian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yngve Odlo, held on Thursday via videoconference.
"Lieutenant General Yngve Odlo noted that the armed forces of the Kingdom of Norway strictly adhere to the Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-building Measures adopted at the OSCE Forum in 2011, and advocate transparency of major military exercises." - noted in the press service of the fleet.

In March 2020, it was reported that Norway canceled the Cold Response exercises due to the threat of coronavirus. According to media reports, 15 thousand military personnel were supposed to take part in them.
