As part of the 17th payload resupply mission, new hydrogen sensors for the oxygen recovery system, a modern system for improving plant cultivation techniques and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries will be delivered to the ISS. In addition, the ship will be equipped for the first time with a system that will allow to adjust the orbit of the station.
The previous launch of such a device took place on August 11, it undocked from the ISS on November 20. Cargo is also delivered to orbit by SpaceX Dragon ships under a contract with NASA. Russians Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, Americans Mark Vande Hai, Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron, German Matthias Maurer are currently on watch aboard the station.
