Washington. January 13. INTERFAX - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has designated the Russian firm Parsek as a "key source" of goods and technologies for the manufacture of North Korean missiles.
"The procurement and supply relations between Oh Yong Ho (a citizen of the DPRK - IF), Roman Anatolyevich Alar and Parsek LLC are a key source of goods and technologies applicable to missiles for the DPRK missile program," Blinken said in a statement issued by the State Department.
It is noted that according to the State Department, in the period from 2018 to 2021, a DPRK citizen living in Russia, Oh Yong Ho purchased and made efforts to purchase items applicable to missiles from third countries on behalf of the DPRK missile program.
The US Foreign Ministry clarified that in the period from 2016 to 2021, Oh Yong Ho worked with the Russian company Parsek LLC and a Russian citizen, the director of development of this company, Roman Alar, on the purchase of a variety of goods for use in ballistic missiles.
According to Blinken, the activities of the above-mentioned persons "significantly contributed to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery to the DPRK."
Earlier it was reported that the US Treasury introduced restrictive measures against the Moscow-registered company "Parsek" and against seven individuals associated with the DPRK.
The list includes Russian Roman Alar, as well as several citizens of North Korean origin living in China or Russia.
Restrictive measures imply a ban on transactions or doing business with listed individuals for US citizens and American companies.
