Enthusiasts and lovers of weapons showed on video a unique test of shooting from the "Russian" captured Mauser 98. The rifle shot in the video, according to the authors, has a unique history. It was produced in Germany, then captured by Russian soldiers during the First World War, lay in a warehouse in the USSR for a long time and was later used during the Great Patriotic War.
Despite the long journey, the 111-year-old rifle still shoots perfectly! The close-up video shows the factory numbers and engraving stamped on the bolt and butt of the weapon, which certify the release date of this mauser and its history.
A gun lover conducting a rifle test repeatedly draws the attention of viewers that this is exactly a "Russian" rifle captured by Soviet soldiers as a trophy.
In accordance with its design, the rifle is loaded not through a detachable box magazine, but from the upper part, from the side of the bolt. At the same time, five cartridges are placed in the mauser, and the shooting is carried out singly in semi-automatic mode: after each shot, it is necessary to distort the shutter.
It is worth noting that the shooting on the video turned out to be very loud, and the results of the hits were monstrously destructive. Bullets smash into splinters any target - from a bottle of water, to clay pots and metal blocks. It turns out very spectacular and it becomes clear why this weapon was considered very formidable and effective. It is no coincidence that the updated version of the Mauser 98K was adopted by Nazi Germany in 1935. But even after the end of World War II, 26 countries continued to actively exploit this rifle. It turned out to be so popular that in 1998, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Mauser 98, the company released a limited batch of 1998 rifles - exact copies of the Mauser of Nazi Germany.
Interestingly, in terms of its dimensions and technical characteristics, the Mauser 98 is very close to the Russian "three-line", although there are significant differences in their device.
