TSAMTO, January 12. On January 7, Lockheed Martin Corporation announced the signing of a contract with the US Department of Defense as part of the modernization of 25 AH-64D Apache attack helicopters of the Egyptian Air Force to the latest version of the "E".
The value of the agreement signed on December 28 with the Command for the conclusion of contracts of the US Army is $ 102.389 million. The program, in particular, includes the supply and installation as part of the modernization of the AH-64D Apache of Lockheed Martin-developed upgraded aiming systems / night vision systems (MTADS/PNVS) of the third generation and sets of DSA day sensors (Day Sensor Assembly) of the third generation.
The contract was concluded within the framework of an agreement previously signed by Lockheed Martin with the US Military Command with an indefinite delivery period for an indefinite number of ID/IQ (indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity) TADS/PNVS and DSA systems.
Installation work will be carried out at the Boeing Corporation facility in Mesa (Arizona) and is expected to be completed in July 2024.
TADS/PNVS systems will provide pilots with combat capabilities and safe piloting during the day, at night and in adverse weather conditions. The DSA kit expands the capabilities of distance measurement and target designation for the use of existing and promising weapons systems.
As reported by TSAMTO, in May 2020, the US State Department decided to approve the potential sale to Egypt under the Foreign Military Sales program of equipment for the repair and modernization of 43 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, including the supply of 88 T700-GE-701D gas turbine engines, 47 upgraded AN/ASQ-170 targeting systems / upgraded AN/AAR-11 night vision systems (MTADS/PNVS), 45 AAR-57(V) missile attack warning systems, other equipment and weapons in the amount of up to $2.3 billion.
The announcement of the signing of the contract with Lockheed Martin confirms that work on the modernization of the AH-64D Apache attack helicopters of the Egyptian Air Force to the "E" version has begun.
