ROSTOV-ON-DON, January 12. /tass/. The formation of two new divisions will be completed this year in the south of Russia. This was reported to journalists on Wednesday in the press service of the Southern Military District (SE) with reference to Commander Alexander Dvornikov.
"We will complete the creation of two divisions this year, forming another motorized rifle regiment and a tank battalion in their composition, this will increase the combat capabilities of the district," Dvornikov said, quoted in the press service.
In addition, in 2022, the 415th training center for junior specialists will be deployed to the full staff. This, as noted in the press service, will provide planned training for the Southern Military District, as well as units of the coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla with more than five thousand drivers, gunners and driver mechanics.
The press service recalled that in 2020, the 19th Motorized Rifle Division was re-formed as part of the 58th Combined Arms Army, and in 2021, the first stage of the formation of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division was completed as part of the 8th Combined Arms Army.
