Turkey has started assembling a light jet attack aircraft

The assembly of the first HÜRJET jet aircraft has begun in Turkey. Yesterday, January 11, the portal savunmasanayist.com He announced that the new machine will be delivered in versions of a training aircraft and a light attack aircraft.

According to the Deputy General Director of TAI Atilla Dogan, the first flight of the HÜRJET is scheduled for March 18, 2023.

TAI expects that HÜRJET will replace the T-38 and F-5 aircraft in the Turkish Air Force. In addition, great export hopes are pinned on the new jet — Turkey is already participating with it in the Malaysian Air Force tender for the supply of 18 light attack aircraft.

Earlier, Turkey successfully mastered the assembly of the Hurkus turboprop aircraft, also released in the light attack aircraft version. In addition, the country is actively preparing to create a TF-X fighter of its own design.
