MOSCOW, January 11. /tass/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu set a task in 2022 to continue equipping the armed forces with high-precision weapons, to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into the troops.
"It is important to continue equipping the troops with high-precision complexes, the latest intelligence, navigation, communications and control systems. It is necessary to actively master modern weapons, new forms and methods of action of troops, introduce artificial intelligence technologies," Shoigu said at a conference call on Tuesday. According to him, "during combat training, it is necessary to train commanders with unconventional thinking, capable of making effective decisions."
"Efforts should be focused on the development of military and military-technical cooperation (MTC) with the states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the CSTO, as well as on strengthening the defense capability of the Union State of Russia and Belarus," the minister said.
Speaking about the tasks for 2022, he also said that the system of social protection of military personnel will be improved.
"Thus, we face serious challenges. The further strengthening of the armed forces depends on how successful their solution will be. Today we will discuss in detail the plans for 2022 in a number of the main areas of our activities," Shoigu said.
