Washington. January 11. INTERFAX - The Russian Embassy in the United States said that Russia itself will decide where and when to conduct military exercises on its territory.
"It is our choice where and when to conduct military exercises on our state territory. We will continue to hold them because it meets the interests of Russia's security," the embassy said in a tweet.
Russian diplomats noted that they do not understand the logic in which the US Deputy Secretary of State declares that Russia should "return its troops to barracks" or inform the US "what exercises are going on and what their purpose is," while Washington does not intend to discuss with Russia the number of its troops in Europe.
