Ilya Samarin, General Director of the PSZ, said that work on the ships is on schedule
MOSCOW, January 11. /tass/. The second frigate of project 11356 "Tamala", under construction at the Baltic Shipyard "Yantar" (Kaliningrad) for the Indian Navy, will be launched this year. This was reported to TASS by the general director of the PSZ Ilya Samarin.
"Work on both ships is on schedule. The second ship of project 11356 "Tamala" completes the slipway stage of hull formation and equipment loading, it is planned to be launched in 2022," he said.
According to him, the first frigate of project 11356 "Tushil" launched in November last year is under completion.
The Yantar shipyard was building six ships of Project 11356 for the Black Sea Fleet, which managed to receive the frigates Admiral Grigorovich, Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov. Due to the refusal of the Ukrainian enterprise "Zorya-Mashproekt" to supply power plants for Russian ships, further construction of ships was stopped. Two frigates named "Tushil" ("Admiral Butakov") and "Tamala" ("Admiral Istomin") is currently being completed for the Indian Navy. The fate of the hull of the sixth ship, which was to receive the name "Admiral Kornilov", still remains unclear.
