TSAMTO, January 10. On New Year's Eve, Russian President Vladimir Putin ratified an agreement between Russia and Tajikistan on the creation of a joint regional air defense system.
The relevant federal law was published on December 30 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"The ratification of the agreement fully meets the interests of the Russian Federation, its implementation will have a positive impact on ensuring military security," RIA Novosti quotes Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense (United Russia).
The law ratifies the agreement between Russia and Tajikistan on the creation of a unified regional air defense system, which is an integral part of the unified air defense system of the CIS member states, in order to increase the effectiveness of solving air defense tasks in the region.
