Moscow. January 9th. INTERFAX - Russian sappers in Laos have started training local specialists, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"The servicemen of the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who arrived to conduct humanitarian demining in the Nakai district of Khammuan province of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, deployed a branch of the center and began training Lao servicemen," the ministry's information department reported.
According to him, specialists will train 30 Lao sappers who will undergo theoretical and practical training using Russian means of search and protection of a sapper. Both sergeants and officers of the Lao army are trained.
"Such training courses for sappers in Laos have been held for the fourth time since 2018. During this time, 69 military personnel of the engineering troops of Laos have been trained and trained," the report says.
