The first units of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces have arrived in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
There, it was noted that the Russian contingent of military transport aircraft was delivered to the territory of Kazakhstan. Now Russian peacekeepers with regular equipment continue to be transferred to Kazakhstan.
Thus, units of the 45th separate special purpose brigade of the Airborne Forces were transferred from the point of permanent deployment to the Chkalovsky airfield. The paratroopers of the Ivanovo Airborne unit also marched to the Ivanovo-Severny airfield, and the Ulyanovsk Airborne unit marched to the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airfield. Military transport aircraft are being loaded onto airfields.
As previously reported, the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO will be engaged in the protection of state and military facilities in Kazakhstan, as well as assist in stabilizing the situation.
