Washington. January 5th. INTERFAX - The United States does not intend to discuss issues related to NATO and Europe during a meeting with Russian representatives in Geneva, State Department spokesman Ned Price said during a briefing.
"As for our interaction with Russia in the context of the strategic stability dialogue, we will not discuss issues related to NATO, issues related exclusively to Europe," Price said. The text of the briefing was distributed by the US State Department.
He noted that the US plans to "talk about a relatively narrow range of bilateral issues."
"The strategic stability dialogue will be narrowly focused on strategic stability issues," Price stressed.
The representative of the State Department added that the United States is not going to discuss issues concerning European allies and partners without their participation.
"We won't do anything or talk about them without them," Price said.
He also recalled that following the bilateral talks with the Russian Federation, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council and negotiations between representatives of the Russian Federation and the OSCE will take place in Geneva.
