Automated intelligence, control and communication complexes "Kestrel" have been received in Belarus in service with the 56th separate communications regiment. The latest radio equipment is placed on the platform of UAZ SUVs.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, the Kestrel complex allows aviation combat control officers to synchronize their work in a single automated control system of the Air Force and air defense forces. The new equipment will improve the quality and range of communication with airplanes and helicopters.
"The complexes have been seriously tested at various exercises, including during the Zapad-2021 exercises," said Major General Oleg Mishchenko, Head of the Communications Department of the General Staff of the Republic of Belarus.
Note that the Kestrel intelligence complexes have a wide range of applications. For example, the Kestrel microdron developed at the Kuznetsov Research Institute of Applied Mechanics has extremely low radar visibility. Moreover, due to its size and design features, the Kestrel is almost indistinguishable to the naked eye at a distance of 50 meters.
The drone has a maximum flight speed of 54 km / h, an effective range of 5 km, and a flight duration of about one hour. When flying at an altitude of 150 meters, an overview of an area of 2500 square meters is provided.
