According to the institute, the telescope is a high-precision means of monitoring bright space objects
MOSCOW, January 3. /tass/. The Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences has launched a new telescope in Altai, which in the future will allow predicting dangerous approaches of objects in orbit. This is stated in the message of the institute, distributed on Monday.
"A new optical means for observing outer space has been launched - a 25-cm telescope in Altai," the IPM said in an Instagram post.
According to the institute, the telescope is a high-precision means of monitoring bright space objects (including operating vehicles). "In the future, it will improve the quality of forecasts of dangerous approaches," they added.
At the end of November, the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IPM) of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on the development of a unified classifier of dangerous events that occur in near-Earth orbits.
