MOSCOW, January 3. /tass/. The space forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces controlled the situation in near-Earth space and the termination of the ballistic existence of more than 400 vehicles. This is stated in the message of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Over the past year, the specialists of the Main Center for the Exploration of the Space Situation (GC RKO) discovered and accepted over 1,700 spacecraft for escort and monitored their launch into orbit, as well as provided forecasting and monitoring of the termination of the ballistic existence of over 400 space objects," the report says.
As specified in the military department, the specialists of the Main Center for the Exploration of the Space Situation paid special attention to the control of orbital groupings of foreign satellites and the prevention of dangerous approaches of domestic spacecraft with other objects.
"As part of the combat duty to ensure the control of outer space in 2021, the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces performed over 3,500 special works to control changes in the space situation," the Defense Ministry added.
