Baijiahao analysts said that the range of the Russian Sarmat missile scares the United States
Russia's newest intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat" has a frightening feature for the United States — a firing range of up to 18 thousand kilometers. This was stated by analysts of the Chinese publication Baijiahao, reports "PolitRussia".
"What scares the United States is that the missile can carry ten nuclear warheads with a charge capacity of 750 kilotons each, which is equivalent to 800 atomic bombs. It's not even worth mentioning that Washington does not have such weapons," the article says.
According to experts, Sarmat was created specifically as a warning to the United States. It is claimed that as soon as the "great killer" (as analysts call the missile) is adopted, it will become even more difficult for the American authorities to threaten Russia.
In December, the Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) Sergey Karakaev announced the deadline for putting "Sarmatians" on combat duty. According to him, this will happen at the end of 2022. Karakayev clarified that the task was set to put the first regiment in the Uzhur Rocket Division in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
In September, the head of the Roscosmos state corporation Dmitry Rogozin said that in the future Sarmat will become the basis of Russia's nuclear shield. According to him, the characteristics of the complex will allow overcoming any missile defense system. Rogozin noted the high range and speed of the rocket's ascent.
