Roscosmos: 83 cosmonauts have met the New Year's holiday on the ISS for 21 years
83 people in 21 years have met on board the International Space Station (ISS) New Year's holiday. This is reported on the website of Roscosmos.
At the same time, some cosmonauts have repeatedly celebrated the New Year in orbit. So, Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov celebrated the holiday on the ISS four times.
In total, ten people met the year 2022 in orbit: Roscosmos cosmonauts Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hai, Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron, European Space Agency astronaut Matthias Maurer, as well as Chinese astronauts Zhai Zhigan, Ye Guangfu and Wang Yaping.
Earlier it was reported that new problems with equipment and housing were discovered on the ISS, said Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of Roscosmos. "I wish you a Happy New Year! I wish you to cure the problems that you have encountered both in terms of equipment and in terms of the building itself," Rogozin said, addressing congratulations to Shkaplerov and Dubrovu.
