Uraltransmash has completed deliveries of upgraded Acacia howitzers to Belarus
The delivery of upgraded 2S3M Acacia howitzers from Russia to Belarus has been completed. Uraltransmash (part of the Uralvagonzavod concern of the Rostec State Corporation) has repaired and modernized artillery installations under a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Belarus. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the company.
"Uraltransmash JSC has completed the delivery of upgraded 2S3M Acacia self-propelled howitzers under the 2020-2021 contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus. The machines were delivered to the customer on time," the message said.
The general director of the enterprise Denis Semizorov said that the overhaul and modernization extends the service life of the machines. According to him, the technical condition of the repaired howitzers is as close as possible to the condition of the new installations.
The self-propelled howitzer 2S3M "Acacia" of 152 mm caliber is designed to suppress and destroy manpower, defensive structures and enemy equipment.
Earlier, Uraltransmash announced the completion of the modernization of 2S7M Malka self-propelled guns for the Russian army. The repair and modernization of the machines were carried out within the framework of the state defense order. 2S7M received digital guidance and fire control equipment, as well as modern means of communication.
