According to the head of Roscosmos, the enterprises of the rocket and space industry have worked well in 2021, despite the pressure of the pandemic

MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS. Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of Roscosmos, is convinced that the new launch complex at the Vostochny cosmodrome, which is designed for launching the Angara launch vehicle, will be introduced on time.

"I am sure that the new launch complex will be put into operation according to plan, and the launch of Angara from it will take place on time," Rogozin said in a New Year's greeting posted on the state corporation's website.

According to the head of Roscosmos, the enterprises of the rocket and space industry have worked well in 2021, despite the pressure of the pandemic. "Your professionalism and responsibility have had a positive impact on the quality and reliability of our equipment, which allowed us to redirect funds to the modernization of production and technical renewal," he stressed.

The CEO of Roscosmos is convinced that space has become popular again. "People talk and write about us in the media, young people dream about working in the space industry and are ready to connect their future with it," Rogozin stressed.

The head of the state corporation thanked all employees of the rocket and space industry for their work and the results achieved. "I wish you all good health, new achievements, a positive attitude and well-being," concluded the General Director of Roscosmos.

Vostochny is the first Russian civilian cosmodrome, it is located in the Amur region near Tsiolkovsky (the city appeared in 2015 on the site of the former village of Uglegorsk). The decree on the creation of the cosmodrome was signed by the President of the Russian Federation in 2007. As part of the first stage of construction in 2012-2016, a universal launch complex for Soyuz-2 series launch vehicles was built here. The second stage of the construction of the cosmodrome involves the construction of a launch pad for Angara-A5 launch vehicles and related infrastructure. It is assumed that the construction of the second stage will be completed at the end of 2022, and the first launch will take place at the end of 2023.
