The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Manturov: MS-21 received a basic type certificate
The Russian passenger aircraft MS-21 has received a basic type certificate, which includes foreign components. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, RIA Novosti reports.
"The MS-21 aircraft received a basic type certificate today," the minister said.
He added that flights to expand the certificate will continue until 2024. Next year, changes will be made to the certificate, which will determine the use of a Russian engine and a composite wing.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the basic certificate includes components of foreign production. The MS-21 received a wing made of imported materials and Pratt & Whitney PW1400G engines.
Earlier, the MS-21-300 aircraft with a wing made of Russian-made polymer composite materials made its first flight. The plane took off from the airfield of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant.
