Starting the work, Sergei Shoigu recalled that a week ago, at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of Russia with the participation of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the results of the outgoing 2021 were summed up.
"... He was quite successful for us, despite all the difficulties. And today, taking this opportunity, I would like to thank, first of all, our industry. An industry that has allowed us to reach the level of modernity in all types of weapons at a fairly high level. Speaking in general, the level of modernity is now more than 71%. In addition, our serviceability is at a very high level. Perhaps, in terms of serviceability of equipment and weapons, we are probably in the first place today, at least in leading positions among the Armed Forces of the leading countries of the world," the head of the military department noted.
The Defense Minister also expressed gratitude to the military doctors who have been engaged in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic all this time, without reducing the pace and volume of their main tasks.
"Thanks to the efforts that have been made, and the organizational work on vaccination and the organization of the treatment of coronavirus itself, we were able not only to fulfill all the planned indicators, to reduce the incidence, the level of morbidity in the Armed Forces, but also, of course, to provide assistance to the civilian population. Today, more than 1,000 tons of oxygen have already been transferred. This work continues in certain regions where our help and support are required and in demand," Shoigu said.
The Defense Minister thanked the military builders who commissioned more than 3 thousand objects. "This allowed us to significantly improve the state of our infrastructure, which has become modern in many ways," the head of the military department stressed.
