Vienna. December 28. INTERFAX - The coordinator of the Joint Commission at the negotiations on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program in Vienna, Enrique Mora, told reporters that positive solutions are possible during the negotiations, but it will be extremely difficult to achieve them.
"If we work hard in the coming days and weeks, we should achieve a positive result... It will be very difficult... Difficult political decisions must be made both in Tehran and in Washington," he said at a press conference.
The eighth round of negotiations began yesterday in Vienna. Mora held a press conference after the meeting of representatives of Iran, Russia, China, France, Great Britain, Germany and the European Union.
He noted: "All delegations have a sense of urgency that these negotiations should be completed in a relatively reasonable time. Again, I wouldn't set limits, but we're talking about weeks, not months."
On the eve of the Russian Federation's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, discussed with Mora possible further actions in the framework of negotiations to restore the nuclear deal with Iran.
"I met with the EU coordinator at the Vienna talks, Enrique Mora. We discussed possible ways of further work at the supposedly final round of negotiations on the restoration of the JCPOA," Ulyanov tweeted.
Ulyanov also held a meeting with the US Special Representative for Iran, Robert Malley. The sides exchanged views on a number of topical issues in connection with the restoration of the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.
"Just before the official opening of the eighth round of the Vienna talks, I met with the US Special Representative to Iran, Robert Malley. We exchanged views on a number of important issues that are under consideration during the ongoing negotiations on the restoration of the JCPOA," the Russian Permanent Representative said in a statement.
