A total of 36 satellites were launched on the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle
TASS, December 27. The first two groups (eight vehicles) of British OneWeb communications satellites, launched earlier on Monday from the Baikonur cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket, separated from the Fregat upper stage. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos on Twitter.
"There is a separation of the first and second batches of OneWeb satellites from the Fregat upper stage," the report says.
The Soyuz-2.1b rocket launched from Baikonur at 16:10 Moscow Time. The satellites will be separated from the upper stage in several stages. As a result, the number of spacecraft of the British company in orbit will increase to 394.
This launch was the first when 36 OneWeb satellites were launched from Baikonur at once. Before that, 34 communication satellites were launched from the cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
