Dubai. December 24. INTERFAX - The aircraft of the Saudi-led coalition against the Yemeni Houthi rebels struck and destroyed nine weapons depots in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, Saudi state television reported, citing a coalition statement.
The strikes were carried out after the expiration of the six-hour period that the coalition had allocated to the Houthis in an ultimatum form for the removal of weapons from the Al-Tawra stadium.
The Houthis used this period to move weapons to the Tashrifat camp, which was attacked by coalition aircraft.
There are no reports of possible casualties.
At the same time, the representative of the Houthi command, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, after receiving the coalition's ultimatum, suggested that the UN send representatives to the stadium, saying that if weapons or drones were found there, they would be immediately handed over to the world organization.
"But if nothing is found, the coalition must stop its attacks forever," he tweeted.
The armed conflict in Yemen has been going on since March 2014. The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia supports the troops of Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi in their confrontation with the Houthi rebels who control part of the country. In the West, they say that Iran supports the rebels.
