The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Fomin, and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Russia signed a protocol on amendments to the Russian-Dutch intergovernmental agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea outside territorial waters. This was reported to journalists on Thursday in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"The changes being made are aimed at ensuring a higher level of safety for the navigation of Russian and Dutch ships, as well as aviation flights when they operate in close proximity to each other outside the territorial seas," the Russian military department noted.
The Agreement on the Prevention of Incidents at Sea was adopted by the parties on June 19, 1990.
