BEIJING, December 23. /tass/. China on Thursday successfully launched two experimental Shiyan-12 satellites into orbit for space exploration. This was announced by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
As specified on her page on the WeChat social network, the launch was carried out at 18:12 local time (13:12 Moscow time) using a CZ-7A rocket from the Wenchang cosmodrome in the southern province of Hainan. It became the 402nd in a row for the carriers of the Changzheng series.
According to CASC, the CZ-7A is the longest (60.7 m) launch vehicle of Chinese design. In the history of the PRC, this is its third launch.
Beijing is actively developing the national space program, developing meteorological, telecommunications and navigation satellites, as well as technologies for the exploration of the Moon. Chinese scientists are simultaneously carrying out a project to explore asteroids and Mars. The construction of the PRC space station is underway in orbit, which according to the plan should be operational in 2022.
