Moscow. December 21. INTERFAX - The launch of the Angara-A5 heavy launch vehicle from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, scheduled for December 23, has been postponed to a later date, a source from the rocket and space industry told Interfax.
"The launch of Angara has been postponed to a later date. One of the options is December 24," the agency interlocutor said.
On December 9, the administration of the Kargasoksky district of the Tomsk region reported that a new test launch of the Angara-A5 rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome is scheduled for December 23.
"The launch time is December 23, 2021 at 18:00 Moscow time (the reserve launch date is December 24, 2021)," the message said.
It was reported that the area of the fall of the separating parts is partially located on the territory of the Kargasoksky, Parabelsky, Kolpashevsky and Verkhneketsky districts of the Tomsk region. Its territory is limited to 8 thousand square kilometers with the center 65 km northwest of Tresh Lake.
The second stage of the launch vehicle is expected to fall on the territory of the Tomsk region. In this regard, local authorities ask the local population to refrain from visiting the area of the fall, and in case fragments are found, inform the regional authorities.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Komi Republic reported that some areas were temporarily declared dangerous on December 23-24 in connection with the test launch of the Angara-A5 heavy launch vehicle from the Plesetsk cosmodrome on December 23.
The first rocket launch took place on December 23, 2014. In May 2019, it became known that in 2019-2021, the Ministry of Defense will conduct three launches of the Angara-A5 launch vehicle and one - Angara 1.2. Later, the launch of 2019 was postponed to 2020. The second launch took place on December 14, 2020 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
