The exercises of snipers of the marine corps of the Caspian Flotilla started at the Adanak training ground in Dagestan. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday, December 20.
The units will practice high-speed shooting in mountainous terrain, taking into account winter conditions. On the field with targets, soldiers will practice aiming, target selection and camouflage in various areas of the terrain during the day and at night.
"Currently, under the guidance of experienced instructors, snipers are trained in the preparation and alignment of optical, mechanical and night sights with the calculation of corrections for low temperature and low atmospheric pressure, the choice of positions in various relief conditions, as well as the rules of camouflage using improvised means," said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, head of the press service of the Southern Military District.
In total, about 100 snipers take part in the exercises.
On October 8, the Pacific Fleet Marine Corps units completed a planned bilateral brigade tactical exercise with a live firing stage in Primorsky Krai. The exercise was held as part of the final inspection of the troops during the summer training period at the marine amphibious training ground at Cape Clerk, units stationed in Primorye and Kamchatka participated in it.
