Cosmonaut Kornienko called the Moon a transshipment base for the exploration of Mars and the Solar System
Cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Mikhail Kornienko said that the Moon can become a transit point for further exploration of Mars and the Solar System, reports URA.RU .
Kornienko called the Moon the nearest neighbor and added that it is easier and cheaper to get to it. In addition, it is safer and faster to build a base on it, as much as possible. The cosmonaut called the Moon a way to explore Mars, the Solar system, as well as to study natural resources.
"But these are all matters of far-reaching days, bringing all these factories there is still out of the realm of fiction. Nevertheless, the Moon remains the most interesting and real object at the moment," Kornienko stressed.
Pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Andrey Borisenko added that going to the planets will give a lot of new, as yet inaccessible information. In his opinion, humanity is just beginning to study the planets, since the most complete data can only be obtained by contact.
"Our task is to start the next stage of studying planets, including in the Solar System. The easiest to achieve is the Earth's satellite - the Moon," Borisenko said.
Earlier in Russia they told about the construction of houses on the Moon. It is assumed that 3D printing technology can form the basis for the settlement of the Moon and Mars.
