Two long-range Tu-22M3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed patrols in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus. According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the flight, the crews worked out tasks together with aviation and air defense forces of a neighboring and friendly Russian state.
"The duration of the flight was about 4 hours. All the tasks have been completed in full. Long-range Tu-22M3 bombers have returned to the airfield based on the territory of the Russian Federation," our military department said.
Recall that Russian missile carriers carry out such raids regularly. For example, on November 10, a pair of long-range Tu-22M3 bombers also performed patrols in the skies of Belarus. Then, during the flight, the crews worked out interaction with ground control points of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and Belarus. In addition, the air defense system of the Union State was checked.
A day later, two Russian Tu-160 supersonic strategic missile carriers simulated bombing at the Belarusian Ruzhanovsky training ground. Aviation weapons of destruction were not used there.
The Russian Defense Ministry then reported that the flights of strategic missile carriers of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the airspace of Belarus are carried out in order to ensure the security of the Union State and are not directed against third countries.
