Bishkek. December 18. INTERFAX - Turkish Bayraktar attack drones ("Bayraktar") have entered service with the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported on Saturday.
"The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov inspected the Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles, which were put into service by the border service of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic," the message says.
The head of state was told about the management system of these devices and demonstrated their work, the press service noted.
"These devices were fully purchased with funds from the republican budget and will be used to ensure the country's defense security, including the protection of state borders," the press service said.
Kyrgyzstan became the first country of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to purchase Turkish drones. The Russian Kant airbase is located in Kyrgyzstan.
Prior to that, it was reported that Bayraktar TB2 purchased Azerbaijan and used these drones during the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2020.
In September of this year, it was reported that Bayraktar drones were demonstrated in Ashgabat at a parade on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan.
