IL-76 aircraft of the Russian military transport aviation delivered humanitarian aid to the Afghan capital. This was announced on Saturday, December 18, by a correspondent of Izvestia.
"They delivered 36 tons of humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan - food, medicines and basic necessities," a correspondent from the scene said.
Three aircraft took off from the Chkalovsky airport near Moscow. The humanitarian aid operation was organized by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
On December 2, three planes carrying citizens evacuated from Afghanistan landed at the Chkalovsky airfield. This evacuation was the third in a row. In total, military transport aircraft took out more than 380 citizens, including residents of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Afghan students of Russian universities.
