"The launch of the Russian navigation satellite Glonass-K2 is planned to be carried out in the middle of the second quarter of 2022," the agency interlocutor noted.
According to the source, the device has already been assembled and is being tested.
Glonass-K2 is a new generation of navigation satellites of the GLONASS system. In October last year, the general designer of the GLONASS system, Sergey Karutin, said in an interview with TASS that the new Glonass-K2 spacecraft would ensure navigation accuracy of less than 30 cm.

Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems Company (manufacturer of Glonass satellites) Nikolay Testoyedov in an interview with TASS reported that the launch of the new navigation satellite "Glonass-K2" was postponed from 2020 to 2021. According to him, some elements of the onboard equipment in the course of ground experiments required refinement.
