TSAMTO, December 17. The Procurement Agency of the Armed Forces of Peru (ACFFAA) has signed a contract with Global Business Logistics Inc. (Florida, USA) for the supply of the Beechcraft T-34C-1 Turbo Mentor for the command of the country's Navy.
According to the information Defensa.com, the sale value is about $1.9 million.
The Peruvian Navy will be supplied with the T-34C-1 (serial number GM-56) of 1978. It was operated by the Indonesian Air Force, which purchased 25 T-34C-1 aircraft in 1978 (16 units) and 1983 (9 units). The TCB with registration number LD-3408 was part of the 102nd Training Squadron stationed at the Adisucipto Air Base. In April 2018, the aircraft was decommissioned and sold to a civilian company. In April, the TCB underwent major repairs.
After the delivery to Peru, which is tentatively scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, the T-34C-1 will become part of the 31st Aviation Squadron of the Naval Aviation School located in San Juan de Marcona. The unit, which now includes at least two T-34S-1s, is responsible for the basic training of pilots of the Peruvian Navy.
