They were astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg
NEW YORK, December 17th. /tass/. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has approved American astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg as part of the sixth crew of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft to be sent to the International Space Station in 2023. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the department.
"NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg will serve as commander and pilot, respectively," the statement said.
It is noted that the remaining two seats on the ship will be given to representatives of international management partners. For Bowen, who became the first submariner in the history of NASA to become an astronaut, this flight into space will be the fourth. Hoburg joined NASA in 2017 and will go into space for the first time.
In November, the third crew arrived at the station on the Crew Dragon spacecraft with American astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron, as well as European Space Agency astronaut Matthias Maurer. They will have to spend about six months in orbit. Together with them, Roscosmos cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, as well as NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hai, are on the station.
