The Syrian air defense destroyed seven of the eight rockets fired by Israeli fighter jets at the area of the international airport in Damascus. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, on Thursday, December 16.
"On December 16, from 01:51 to 01:59, four tactical fighter jets of the Israeli Air Force from the airspace over the Golan Heights struck eight cruise missiles at objects near the international airport of Damascus," he said on the page of the Russian Defense Ministry on Facebook.
It is noted that the Syrian air defense forces destroyed Russian-made Pantsir-S missiles.
One person was killed in the airstrike and a warehouse of tangible property was damaged.
On December 7, Israel launched an air attack near the port of Latakia in Syria. As a result of the airstrike, several containers caught fire.
On November 24, as a result of air strikes on the Syrian city of Homs, two civilians were killed and seven more people were injured. It was noted that as a result of the airstrike, material damage was also caused.
