The Novosibirsk plant of artificial fiber of the Technodinamika holding of Rostec State Corporation has developed a LVV-34-1 belt charge, which is used to harden metals in the manufacture of products for railways. Tests of the new products were completed this year.
The product is a tape formed from an elastic explosive composition. The charge reaches 1800 mm in length, 100 mm in width, and its thickness is 4 mm. Such a charge weighs 1,150 kg and can be operated at temperatures from minus 50 to plus 50 degrees. The detonation velocity is 7600 m/s. This charge is used to harden metals by explosion on the Earth's surface. The change in the mechanical properties of the metal occurs under the action of a shock wave by its deformation. The technology of blast wave hardening has no analogues in the world and allows you to significantly increase the wear resistance and resource of the crosspieces of the switches.
The LVV-34-1 charge became an analogue of the special LVV-11-1 belt charge previously produced at the enterprise, which was used to strengthen the cores of the crosspieces and was supplied for many years to the main manufacturer of switch products for railways, the Novosibirsk Switch Plant.
"The new development of the NVIV LVV-34-1 has improved characteristics compared to its predecessor LVV-11-1. The production of improved charges will allow the Novosibirsk Artificial Fiber Plant to expand the range of industrial explosives and increase production volumes," said Igor Nasenkov, General Director of Technodinamika JSC.
