The Russian reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicle "Hunter" will be able to fight with targets in the air. This is reported by the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Red Star".
It is noted that the unmanned aircraft has not only the necessary target equipment for reconnaissance, but is also equipped with air-to-air aircraft weapons.
There are no details about this weapon yet, but it can be assumed that the S-70 will receive powerful long-range and highly intelligent missiles, like the new domestic low-profile Su-57 fighter capable of working in tandem with the UAV.
In fact, the Hunter is a winged machine of a new generation, and our country has now become one of the leaders of this promising direction in aviation.
The publication states that in terms of aerodynamics and controllability, the "seventies" has already taken place as an aircraft. The dimensions of the "flying wing" are the same as those of manned light-class fighters. The length is 14 meters, the wingspan is 19 meters, the take-off weight is a little more than 20 tons.
Composite materials are widely used in the design, which makes it possible to be inconspicuous for enemy air defense. Also in this sample, a flat engine nozzle is used, providing stealth in infrared mode.
Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko, who visited the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov, noted that advanced achievements of enterprises and organizations of the domestic defense industry are concentrated in this drone, which made it possible to provide functionality that is not inferior, but in a number of parameters surpassing a few single foreign analogues.
