MOSCOW, Dec 15 - RIA Novosti. The US Navy missile destroyer Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) has begun the transition from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean after conducting operations with NATO allies and partners in the region, the US Sixth Fleet said.
"A missile destroyer... On December 15, Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) began its planned southward passage from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea after conducting naval operations together with NATO allies and partners," the Sixth Fleet reported on Twitter.
The destroyer has been in the Black Sea since November 25, visited the Bulgarian Varna and the Romanian port of Constanta. The Russian military previously reported that they were monitoring the movements of Arleigh Burke.
Earlier this year, the same US destroyer carried out patrols in the Barents, Baltic, Black and Mediterranean Seas. Another US destroyer Mount Whitney has already visited Constance in November.
