The Central Military District will increase the number of joint training sessions with our neighbors from Central Asia next year. The increased number of exercises is associated with the increase in military threats on the southern borders in the region.
According to the commander of the district's troops, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, joint maneuvers are also aimed at further developing the skills and abilities of coalition and united groups of troops in 2022. "The most significant will be the joint exercise with the peacekeeping forces of the CSTO "Unbreakable Brotherhood-2022", - said the Colonel-General.
According to Lapin, the district has conducted about 50 international exercises this year. The main ones were 11 joint trainings that took place on the territory of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with the participation of units from the armed forces of ten allied states. Now the Central Military District is an outpost of Russia on our southern borders. The district is located on the territory of three federal districts and 29 Russian subjects. The district includes our 201st military base in Tajikistan, a joint military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as units in Kazakhstan.
The other day, the 201st military base received new military equipment. The military has adopted more than thirty upgraded T-72B3M tanks with improved combat characteristics. Kornet missile systems appeared in anti-tank units, and Verba anti-aircraft systems appeared.
