TSAMTO, December 10. The Egyptian Armed Forces demonstrated the ASN-209 UAV adopted during the EDEX-2021 exhibition held in Cairo. Egypt began production of this multipurpose UAV under a Chinese license in June 2012.
As reported by Armyrecognition.com The ASN-209 UAV and its versions were developed by the Chinese company Aisheng Technology Group Co., also known as the Research Institute of Unmanned Aircraft Technology of Northwestern Polytechnic University or the 365th Institute, founded in 1984.
The UAV is designed to collect information, surveillance, reconnaissance, relay signals, target designation and evaluation of the results of fire damage at any time of the day.
The length of the UAV is 4273 mm, the wingspan is 7500 mm, the maximum take-off weight is 320 kg, the payload weight is 50 kg, the range is 200 km. The device can stay in the air for more than 10 hours, reach speeds of up to 180 km/ h and patrol at altitudes up to 5000 m. The launch of the UAV is carried out from a ground launcher using a rocket accelerator, landing – using a parachute.
The ASN-209 UAV delivery kit usually includes aircraft, payload, data transmission channel, ground control station and equipment for launch and landing.
As reported, the UAV can carry two 16-kg TL-2 (Tianlei-2) air-to-ground missiles.
