Washington. December 10th. INTERFAX - U.S. Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Israel's Beni Ganz discussed the Iranian problem at a meeting in Washington, Austin assured that the United States would continue efforts aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, the Pentagon said.
"Defense Minister Lloyd Austin met with Israeli Defense Minister Beni Ganz and confirmed (...) the determination of the United States to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons," the message says.
He also declared "the US commitment to ensuring Israel's security and its qualitative military superiority."
The sides discussed "common problems related to Iran's nuclear provocations, its support for terrorism and its missile program," and agreed to continue close cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense "to maintain regional security goals."
Austin noted that US President Joe Biden's position on the Middle East settlement is based on the "creation of two states."
