TSAMTO, December 9th. This year, about a thousand AK-12 submachine guns have been put into service with a special purpose unit of the Central Military District stationed in the Novosibirsk region.
Modern models came to replace the machines of earlier modifications. Also this year, more than 50 units have been supplied to snipers of formations and military units of the Central Military District stationed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo Regions and the Altai Territory. upgraded models of silent weapons "Vintorez", "Val", SV-98 sniper rifles and large-caliber sniper complex ASVKM.
AK-12 – 5,45- mm assault rifle developed by the Kalashnikov Concern. Compared to previous versions of the AK-74M and AKM submachine gun, it has increased ergonomics. The AK-12 has several Picatinny rails for installing additional equipment: sights, front handle, flashlight, laser designator. The magazine of the machine gun is equipped with a transparent insert for ammunition control, the press service of the Central Military District reports.
The combined arms Army of the Central Military District is stationed on the territory of the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk regions, the Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It consists of motorized rifle, artillery formations, air defense forces, RCBZ and communications.
