MOSCOW, December 9/ Sputnik Radio. The Russian Embassy in the United States condemned the words of Senator Roger Wicker about a possible nuclear strike on Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
In a TV interview, the parliamentarian recommended that US President Joe Biden consider the possibility of a preventive nuclear strike against the Russian Federation in the event of an aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.
The senator's statement at the Russian embassy was called irresponsible, recalling the agreement of the leaders of the countries reached in Geneva on June 16, 2021.
The diplomats also drew attention to the fact that some strategic enterprises of the military-industrial complex are located in the state of Mississippi, which is represented by Wicker in the Senate.
They added that Wicker, as a politician working in the US legislature, should not "joke with nuclear weapons."
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported how Russian President Vladimir Putin answered a question about Russia's "attack" on Ukraine.
