For the first time in history, the crew of the Soyuz MS-20 spacecraft left the Cosmonaut Hotel at the Baikonur Cosmodrome to the song "Grass at Home" in Japanese. This was announced on Wednesday, December 8, Roscosmos reports in its Telegram channel.
On the Soyuz MS-20 spacecraft, two Japanese citizens will go to the ISS at once: Yusaku Maezawa and Yozo Hirano. Russian Alexander Misurkin will also join them.
This song was recorded in Japanese by the duo Deai - Japanese singer Natsuka Sugawara and Russian musician Vitaly Suntsev.
The day before, on December 7, it was reported that the ISS will paint a painting with brushes on canvas for the first time. As specified by the Japanese Yusaku Maezawa and Yozo Hirano, who will go to the ISS for 12 days, they planned two experiments at the station: to paint a picture and mix paints with water in zero gravity.
According to Maezawa, to paint a picture on the ISS, they will take a special box, which is necessary so that watercolor paints from tubes do not fly apart in zero gravity. The room is a sealed container that is used to manipulate objects in a separate controlled atmosphere. Inside is a specially prepared canvas on which Yusaku will try to create a picture using watercolor brushes. However, the plot of the picture is still unknown.
The second art experiment will be devoted to mixing paints with water. In zero gravity, water collects into balls. The Japanese will add acrylic paints to this ball and watch how liquids mix in zero gravity.
