The robot from the Russian resident of Skolkovo successfully passed a probationary period in the Abu Dhabi police, after which it was decided to officially include it in the work. Also, similar robots will appear in other regions of the UAE in the near future, Oleg Kivokurtsev, Development Director of Promobot, told TASS.
Police representatives noted the high efficiency of this robot model.
It is noted that thanks to the successful pilot, a project is now being launched to equip police robots and other police departments in Dubai, as well as in the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman.
A linguistic database in Arabic was developed for the robot, as well as a facial recognition system. Promobot knows all police officers, visitors and wanted criminals by sight. The robot's duties include patrolling, video surveillance of employees and visitors of police facilities, temperature measurement and law enforcement. The robot is equipped with obstacle sensors, with which it moves freely.
The company "Promobot" was founded in 2015 in Perm. Since the same year, he has been a resident of Skolkovo. At the moment, the company is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Europe.
