Many years of efforts in the development of Indian automata have gone to waste. Yesterday, December 6, the TASS news agency reported that Russia and India signed a contract for the supply of more than 600,000 AK-203 assault rifles.
The official message from the Kalashnikov concern states that the Indian army will receive "more than 600 thousand AK-203 submachine guns produced in India." The production will be carried out at the Indo-Russian Rifles Private Ltd enterprise in the Korva area of Uttar Pradesh.

"Russian and Indian specialists have carried out extensive preparatory work for three years to optimize the price and technological parameters of the project. Now that the contract has been signed, we are ready to start production of modern AK-203 in the city of Korva in the coming months," the press service of the Kalashnikov concern reported.
According to unofficial data, the first 70,000 machines will be assembled from Russian components, which will be delivered within 32 months. The total value of the transaction is estimated at $730 million.
